"This is a 3kg Mill City Coffee Roaster that we purchased new in 2022. It has just over 4200 roasts logged and has undergone meticulous maintenance. There are three temperature probes: one in the bean mass (Bean Temp), one in the bean mass but closer to the drum wall (Drum Temp), and one away from the bean mass (Environmental Temp). We replaced the stock Bean Temp probe with a thinner probe and Phidget for better readability and Cropster compatibility. The roaster is very controllable. Fan and drum speed are easily changed from the control panel. A manometer gives a live readout of the air pressure inside the roaster. Two data-ports allow for sync with Cropster or another roasting software. The burners are over-sized and allow roasting at full capacity. A 3kg batch, for us, usually hits First Crack around 7 minutes without any tipping or scorching."
