North-Branded vs. MCR-Series Mill City Roasters

Mill City began by importing North roasters and selling them under its own name. That's why many early units carry North model numbers like TJ-067 or NC002.

The MCR series came next. Digital control panels arrived on the 6 kg and larger roasters in 2019, then on the 1.5 to 3 kg models in 2020. Older units log roast data through a Phidget hub, which works with Artisan and Cropster. Newer machines add a data port, and recent models like the MCR-2E ship with Mill City's RoastPath software.
