At CoffeeTec, we enjoy working with a wide range of buyers and sellers, whether you’re a startup coffee retail business, a mid-size roastery chain, or a roasting giant like Costco and Disney’s official roaster, Joffrey’s. All of our clients share a common passion for coffee roasting, whether they’ve been in the business for two years or two decades. Speaking of the latter, we’ve worked with several roastery/retail clients for whom coffee roasting is a family affair. For this Roastery Story, we were honored to connect two second-generation coffee-roasting clients — spanning from the Midwest’s “Windy City” to “Steel City” on the Northeast U.S.’s western frontier — to help them keep on roasting.

Night Shift Brewing had a potential private buyer for its Probat P12/2 — and they needed to sell it before their lease was up in 18 days. When we told them we could sell the Probat for more money — PLUS take care of all logistics, crating, and freighting — they gave us the listing. We listed the Probat P12/2 and sold it within a week. The sale transacted four days later through our private financing program. Our seller went on doing what they do best — and with more money in their pocket than they would have gotten by handling the sale themselves. And, we can do the same for you.

This month, we’re sharing a doozy of a story that involves three roasteries run by three very different people, in different parts of the country, and in different stages of their coffee roasting journey. When What’s The Buzz Specialty Coffee knew it was outgrowing its two older roasters, it turned to CoffeeTec to sell and replace them with a new 30-kilo Primo roaster. The result? CoffeeTec sold both used roasters within 3 weeks and had the new Primo roaster installed and commissioned — all completely handled in under 100 days.

What happens when you need to QUICKLY sell your roasting equipment due to an out-of-state plant relocation? CoffeeTec supports sellers with their used coffee roastery equipment by making it easy to connect with buyers and ship heavy machinery across the globe. Operation Coffee connected with CoffeeTec to sell their used Diedrich IR-5 roaster, and we made “logistics easy!”  

We’ve known Randy and his brother Rick for a long time, almost as long as when they first opened the doors of their flagship coffee roastery and cafe in Sandpoint, Idaho, the same relaxed mountain town that CoffeeTec headquarters calls home. That was in September 2009. Fast forward one decade, two states, three bustling roastery cafes and multiple awards later, and we're reminiscing with Randy about Evans Brothers’ success and growth over these formative past 10 years.
