Seal width matters as much as style. Narrow seals suit small retail bags. Wide 10mm and 15mm seals give foil coffee bags a stronger, cleaner closure. Once daily volume outgrows a pedal or tabletop unit, continuous band sealers take over with a conveyor-fed seal.
Constant Heat or Impulse for Coffee Bags?
An impulse sealer heats only for the moment the jaw is closed, then cools. That works well on thin polyethylene and polypropylene film, and our impulse sealers cover those bags. Thicker and laminated packaging needs the deeper heat penetration a constant heat sealer gives.
Side-gusseted coffee bags are the clearest example. Each seal has to pass through four layers at once, and a single-element impulse sealer often can't fuse them all.
